COURT EMPLOYEE ARRESTED AT MECKLENBURG COUNTY COURT BUILDING, HAD SEMI-AUTOMATIC GUN IN PURSE

A Mecklenburg County Court employee tried bringing a gun in the court room, she lives in West Charlotte and said she went to unsafe places

Adrienne White, 56, works for the Mecklenburg County Court, she was arrested on October 21, 2025, accused of bringing a gun into the court at the court building in Charlotte, NC.

Adrienne was coming into work, she had a silver .32 caliber semi automatic Beretta handgun inside her purse. Court guards scanned Adrienne as she was reporting to work, the x-ray scanner at the security checkpoint determined that a gun was inside her purse.

The Mecklenburg County Court was hacked with pornography and racism earlier this year

Guards confronted Adrienne about the gun. Adrienne says she forgot she had the gun in her purse. She says she had recently went to an unsafe area and had the gun for protection. Adrienne lives in west Charlotte, the area is known for murders, robbery, shootings, and crime.

The court employee was immediately taken into custody and charged with possession of a deadly weapon on state property/courthouse, a violation of North Carolina General Statute 14-269.4.

The weapon was seized and entered the SAFE Management System.
