VIDEO SHOWS JUDGE BEING KILLED BY SHERIFF IN COURT BUILDING

Newly released video shows the moments District Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, was murdered in the Letcher County court building where he works by Letcher County Sheriff Shawn Stines, 43, in Whitesburg, Ky on September 19, 2024.

At the moment there is still no motive as to why the sheriff murdered the judge, but the judge did have the sheriff’s teen daughter programmed in his phone.

Sheriff Stines and Judge Mullins were in the judges chambers having an discussion at 2:55 p.m. An argument began between the 2 men, and Sheriff Stines is accused of shooting Judge Mullins dead.

Video shows Sheriff Stines point a gun at Judge Mullins, the judge is seen ducking under a desk, but the sheriff shoots anyway.

The judge was shot several times. The sheriff then walks to the front of the judge’s office and shoots the judge a few more times. See more court shootings here.

The sheriff then left the judge’s chambers. Court employees heard the gunshots and 911 was called.

Sheriff Stines was arrested on scene and charged with murder. The court closed after the judge was murdered. The sheriff resigned on September 24, 2024, and a new sheriff has since been appointed.
