COURT EMPLOYEE ACCUSED OF ROBBING PLS CHECK CASHING BUSINESS IN CHARLOTTE

Almeter Bailey, 30, was arrested on April 10, 2023. Almeter is a deputy clerk for the Mecklenburg County Court in uptown Charlotte, NC. She is accused of trying to rob a PLS Check Cashing business in Charlotte.

In April 2023 Almeter allegedly walked into the PLS Check Cashing business on Albemarle Road. Almeter is accused of pulling a gun and demanding cash.

The suspect fled the scene, although it is not clear if any money was taken. On April 10th police arrested Almeter after an investigation identified her as the suspect.

The Mecklenburg County Court released a statement that says,

“Ms. Bailey’s employment was immediately suspended following her arrest.”

Almeter is charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. A $50,000 secured bond was set for Almeter.
