Swati works at BJ’s Food Mart in Asheville, NC, so after her work shift she decided to buy a ticket from her job at the BJ’s Food Mart.

She bought a $30 Carolina Black Premier scratch off ticket. Swati saw that she won and became very excited.

Swati went to lottery headquarters in Raleigh, NC to claim her new found wealth. She chose to receive her winnings as a lump sum payment of $2.4 million, which resulted in a take home amount of $1,722,008 after state and federal tax with-holdings.

In 2024 a BP gas station employee won $2 million in the lottery on the job at a BP gas station on West Sugar Creek.
