17-year-old Ty’el Hankins was murdered by a 14-year-old in a shooting in Kannapolis, NC on January 26, 2023. Ty’el is from Charlotte, NC.
Ty’el was driving in a vehicle with 2 other teenagers around 11 p.m.
Someone outside the vehicle fired shots and hit Ty’el. The shot caused Ty’el to crash into a house.
Ty’el died on the scene. The two teens in the vehicle with Ty’el survived and were not seriously injured. A 14-year-old was charged with the murder of Ty’el within hours of the shooting.
