Richard Hardy, 38, is a jail guard at the Mecklenburg County Jail. Officer Richard killed himself on November 19, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. Cops kill themselves all the time, it shows their mental health problems, yet most cops think they are normal when they mistreat and abuse people on the street. Further, often times various police departments including CMPD often times let their officers get away with constitutional violations of citizens. CMPD has a history of violating people’s rights, and even killing people on duty.
At 11 a.m. on Nov. 19th Richard shot himself via suicide. EMS and police were called to his house in south Charlotte near where Border Patrol raids are rampant.
Richard was pronounced deceased on scene. Richard became a jail guard in July 2023. Many cops violate people’s constitutional rights and think they can get away with it, the main one being the 4th Amendment Right to protection against illegal search and seizure.
Garry Mcfadden is the sheriff of Mecklenburg County, and he is doing a terrible job. Garry Mcfadden is racist and arrogant, as heard directly from his own mouth in a recording that he didnt want released to the public. He called his own sheriff’s employees racial slurs including nigger and cracker.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department has a history of violating the constitutional rights of people, and often times the department will say the officer did nothing wrong. It is not until legal action is taken on the police department for proper solutions to be made and financial settlements to be reached, their hope is that people dont have enough money to hire an attorney.
Even the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office was sued for violating the First Amendment Rights of a muslim woman at the jail.
The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department was sued for murdering a man in a domestic disturbance.
A female Bojangles employee stripped naked on video during a police interrogation due to her constitutional rights being violated, cops said she was smoking marijuana in public, when it was just THCA, which is legal.
Video further shows how a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department cop shot a fellow black cop on duty during a drug raid, now the police department is saying it was the black officer’s fault because his vest didn’t have big enough letters that spelled out police.
