Jyilek Harrington, 21, was murdered on September 11, 2024 in Charleston, WV. He is from Charlotte, NC where he played football at Vance High School. Jyilek was a senior on the football team at West Virginia State University.
Jyilek played linebacker at Division II West Virginia State University. On Wednesday night Jyilek was shot during a home invasion.
Suspects barged into his off campus apartment and shot Jyilek multiple times in the hallway.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and performed live saving measures on Jyilek. Unfortunately Jyilek was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they had no information on a possible suspect. Jyilek played his last football game 6 days ago in a win against Barton College, he had eight total tackles, including a sack. Click here to see other football player deaths and news.
