$1.1 MILLION IN METH DISCOVERED IN FORD VAN

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Del Rio International Bridge seized more than $1.1 million in methamphetamine in a single enforcement action in Del Rio, Texas on September 11, 2024.

 The seizure occurred when a 2014 Ford van hauling a utility trailer approached the checkpoint at the bridge. 

Officers conducted a secondary examination that included utilization of a non-intrusive inspection system and canines. 

Upon conducting a closer physical examination, officers discovered eight packages containing a total of 124.78 pounds of methamphetamine hidden within planters in the trailer. 

The narcotics had a street value of $1,115,472. Customs and Border Protection seized the narcotics and turned the driver and vehicle to the Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office.
