Kimora Hodges, 21, is accused of abusing 11-month-old Kyrie Starks in Roseville, Michigan. Kyrie died on June 22, 2022 at the hospital. Kyrie’s mother is only 18-years-old.
On June 13, 2022 Kimora was babysitting Kyrie while the mother was at work. Kimora is accused of throwing Kyrie into a wall and then shaking him multiple times.
The baby began having seizures and convulsing on the floor. Kimora then called Kyrie’s mother and said that the baby was having an allergic reaction because he ate soap.
The mother rushed to the apartment and initially believed Kimora, as Kimora was a trusted family friend, as Kimora had watched Kyrie multiple times in the past.
Once the mother arrived at the apartment and saw Kyrie, she called 911. Paramedics took the baby to the hospital.
Doctors then discovered that Kyrie had been physically abused. Doctors told the mother that her son Kyrie had blunt force trauma to the head and was bleeding. Kyrie had to have immediate brain surgery.
Kimora was arrested and charged with felony child abuse.
After over a week of emergency care, Kyrie died on June 22, 2022. Charges are likely to be upgraded to murder for Kimora.
