ARREST MADE AFTER ATRIUM HOSPITAL EMPLOYEE MURDERED AT APARTMENTS

28-year-old Quintin Shipp was arrested on January 18, 2023 charged with the homicide of Ali Rashid, 28. The victim was killed on January 13, 2023 at apartments on Hackberry Creek Trail Charlotte, NC. Ali was a young father.

Ali was shot at 7:03 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex. He was then taken in an ambulance to the hospital in serious condition.

Life saving measures were administered on Ali, but he was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

As a result of the continued investigation, detectives identified Quintin as a suspect. On January 18, 2023, officers with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team tracked Quintin to an address in Troutman, NC.

With the assistance of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, Quintin was arrested without incident. Following an interview with homicide detectives, the suspect was charged with murder, robbery, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Ali leaves behind at least 2 young children and a loving family. Ali worked at Atrium Hospital in Charlotte.
