At 1:00 a.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call. A victim was shot dead. EMS medics attempted to provide emergency care, but the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and to process the scene and collect physical evidence.
29-year-old Lamarcus Jackson was murdered in west Charlotte hours earlier
Several other murders occurred on the same day within hours of each other, like a ripple effect.
A homicide occurred hours later on Griffith Rd. at 1 a.m. near a strip club.
Derrick Byas, 36, was shot and killed in a homicide on Rea Road.
And after that a victim was shot and killed on Cinnabay Drive.
