As a result of the continued investigation, on July 13, 2023 detectives arrested a 15-year-old suspect and 19-year-old Emanuel Parada in the murder of Ja’Kez Johnson, 19. The victim was murdered in Charlotte, NC.
Ja’kez was shot multiple times on Curtiswood Drive on July 8, 2023 around 5:00 p.m. Paramedics transported Ja’kez to Atrium Health Main Hospital with life threatening injuries. Days later on July 10th Ja’Kez died at the hospital. On Thursday, July 13th cops located and arrested Emanuel and the 15-year-old juvenile suspect.
Both suspects were transported to police headquarters in uptown to be interviewed by detectives.
At the conclusion of the interview, Emanuel and the minor were charged with murder.
