Date:

Black ice led to a 18-wheeler truck losing control and flipping upside down on highway, 2nd truck to take the rollover tumble this week

A 18 wheeler truck rolled over in a crash on I-85 on January 27, 2026 in Concord, NC after it slipped on black ice. There was a snow storm that led to the accumulation of ice and snow over the weekend.

The tractor-trailer truck was driving on I-85 at 7:30 a.m. when it slipped on black ice and flipped upside down, crashing into the median near George W. Liles Parkway.

Fuel was spilled onto the highway as well. Multiple people were injured in the crash, but no deaths happened. The upside down crash caused major traffic delays on I-85.

This is the second upside down crash on I-85 involving an 18-wheeler truck this week.
