James Wynes and Brandon Misewicz

James and Brandon died on September 3, 2023. The men were at a party at apartments on 4943 Park Road. Several people were in attendance at the party.

Brandon was found unresponsive at the party in the living room. Several party attendees were using cocaine, including Brandon and James.

911 was called after Brandon, James and 2 other people collapsed on the ground and were unresponsive.

Brandon was found in a cyanotic state and vomit was present around his head. Medics used defibrillator pads to help save Brandon’s life. Even Narcan was administered with no change.

Brandon died on the scene.

Darius Mckinney died from a fentanyl and cocaine overdose

It turned out that Brandon had 28 ml of fentanyl in his blood while also having .10 mg of cocaine in his blood stream.

Paramedics loaded James up in an ambulance in cardiac arrest.

Once James arrived at the hospital a supraglottic airway was placed and properly positioned in his breathing passage. Intravascular lines were placed in his right antecubital fossa and right forearm; and intraosseous cannulation of the right and left lower legs.

James went into cardiopulmonary arrest after being administered naloxone.

The lungs of James were edematous and congested. His brain was swollen and edematous. Also his liver and spleen were enlarged.

James was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival at the hospital. There is no obvious trauma and no suspicion for foul play.

Cocaine and fentanyl were in James’s blood. James and Brandon’s official cause of death was fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol toxicity.

Fentanyl is a potent opioid analgesic that is medically approved and prescribed for severe pain syndromes in the United States. It is also found in illicit preparations of drugs sold to users as heroin or prescription opiates concurrently.

The combined use of fentanyl, cocaine, and ethanol markedly increases the risk of sudden death due to the respiratory and central nervous system depressant effects of fentanyl and ethanol and the cardiovascular and cardio toxic effects of cocaine and its metabolites.
