A drunken night at a bar led to the men being kicked out, Steven got mad and murdered the victim
On September 8, 2026 Steven Downing, 30, pled guilty to murdering Stephen Carroll, 39, in Charlotte, NC.
The men were friends and at a bar on South Blvd. The suspect was acting disorderly and got kicked out of the bar along with Carroll.
Downing and Carroll got into an argument outside of the bar and Downing drunkenly shot Carroll dead in the head. Downing was arrested accused of murder.
In September 2026 Downing admitted to the murder and pled guilty. Downing was sentenced to 12-15 years in prison.
