A grandmom found her own grandson Taiye Reid dead from a fentanyl overdose, he was purple and cold to touch
Taiye Reid, 26, died on March 31, 2025. New details show he had 30 ml of fentanyl in his body.

Taiye was in a bad car accident recently and he was prescribed pain opioids. Once his prescription ran out, he began getting pain opioids off the street.
The street drugs likely were laced with fentanyl. Taiye’s behavior was very erratic the night before his death, Taiye was banging his head and face on the wall in the presence of his friend.
The next morning Taiye’s grandmother found him dead on the porch of his residence, his body was purple and cold to the touch. He was wearing croc shoes.

EMS administered advanced life support efforts using defibrillation pads to try to resuscitate him but it was not effective. Taiye’s body went into pulmonary edema.
During after death findings his lungs had patchy pigmentation on them, and there was froth in his airways. Taiye had 40 ml of urine in his bladder.
Taiye had 30 ml of fentanyl in his blood stream at time of death, his official cause of death was fentanyl toxicity.
