TEENAGER CHARGED WITH MURDERING ADULT MAN AT STRIP MALL IN 2020 MERCEDES BENZ

A teen was driving a luxury Mercedes Benz when he allegedly murdered Michael after trying to kidnap him

On February 19, 2026 Mehki Randle, 19, was arrested accused of shooting and killing Michael Alexander, 45, in a kidnap robbery style homicide in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.

On February 9, 2026 at 12:33 a.m., Michael was at a strip mall on David Cox Road with a friend. A black Mercedes Benz pulled up and suspects got out of it.

The suspects approached Michael and his friend with guns demanding cash. The suspects went through both of the victims’ pockets taking cash.

The suspects are accused of trying to force Michael into the Mercedes Benz in a kidnapping attempt. A fight began and Michael was shot by the suspects. The suspects took Michael’s keys and wallet.

The suspect vehicle then sped off and drove to Michael’s home in Georgia. Michael died from the shooting. Homicide detectives identified Mehki Randle, 19, in connection to this case and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Mehki was arrested charged with murder, robbery, kidnapping, and conspiracy.
