A mother and father are now dead. Their kids will miss them. 28-year-old Montayvia Smith was a mother to kids she shared with Daquarius Jackson, 26. Montayvia died from fentanyl toxicity in Charlotte, NC. Over 2 years later on May 12, 2022 Daquarius was shot and killed in Charlotte, NC.
Montayvia died on February 7, 2020. Cocaine metabolites and fentanyl were found in her bodily system. Montayvia was found unresponsive in a bathroom at home on February 6, 2020.
Paramedics were called and they determined she was in an asystole state, otherwise known as flat lined. Montayvia was hospitalized, the fentanyl caused her to get a hypoxic-ischemic brain injury.
A urine drug screen performed on Montayvia was positive for drugs. Within 24 hours of being at the hospital, Montayvia died.
Daquarius was murdered on May 12, 2022 on Avalon Ave.
A suspect approached Daquarius and shot him multiple times near a residence. Paramedics arrived and tried to revive the victim, but Daquarius died at the scene. Daquarius has several young children. He recently had a vacation in Florida with his family.
Daquarius made a social media post in May 2022 that said,
“In my head I keep hearing stay down, stay down.”
