TRIPLE SHOOTING, MAN MURDERED, SECOND SUSPECT ARRESTED

DeAngelo Johnson is the second suspect charged with the Charlotte, NC murder of Elante Thompson. DeAngelo was arrested on September 2, 2022. The first suspect Tyrell Brace, 25, was arrested in August 2022.

On January 29, 2022 at 11:40 pm several suspects shot into a home on Woodside Ave. and a home on Leigh Avenue. The suspects then drove off. 3 people were shot, and friends drove them to area hospitals.

None of the victims were residents of the homes that were shot into.

Two of the victims sustained non life threatening injuries. One victim was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff. The deceased victim was identified as Elante.

During the morning hours of August 25, 2022 Tyrell was located and arrested.

Tyrell was charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On September 2, 2022 DeAngelo was arrested and charged with Elante’s murder.
