CHARLOTTE FATHER ACCUSED OF KILLING CHILD

Richard Truitt, 36, was arrested and charged with killing his son Jackson Truitt, 3, on April 14, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.

Jackson was shot and killed at a home on O’Hara Drive.

A shot was fired at the home. Jackson was found with a bodily gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed Jackson to the hospital, where he would die shortly thereafter.

Richard and members of the family were taken to police headquarters for questioning. At the conclusion of the interrogations, Richard was arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and failure to secure firearm from a minor.
