Kevin was killed on June 26, 2022. This footage was court ordered for release following a news petition.

Shortly before 1 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery call at the Food Lion regarding a suspect stealing groceries. The suspect identified as Kevin brandished a firearm during the incident.

Officers encountered Kevin nearby on Tuckaseegee Road, based on the description of the suspect and items noted on the call.

When officers approached Kevin he dropped his groceries and allegedly pulled out a firearm.

Officers took cover and gave commands for him to drop the weapon. Kevin continued to walk down the street allegedly with the gun in his hand. Officers perceived an imminent deadly threat and discharged their service weapons, shooting Kevin.

Kevin was not facing cops when they shot him, and Kevin did not shoot first. As usual, cops were dishonest and originally said that Kevin shot first.

Kevin was struck by the gunfire. Cops say Kevin also fired at officers, and several of his rounds struck police patrol vehicles.

Kevin was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (NCSBI) conducted the criminal investigation into this officer-involved shooting. The CMPD Internal Affairs Bureau conducted a separate but parallel investigation and determined the officers did not violate any CMPD policies.

The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office also reviewed the case and has issued a letter explaining that they will not prosecute officers involved in this shooting.

CHARLOTTE COPS IDENTIFIED, SENT RACISTS TEXT CALLING BLACK PEOPLE NIGGERS AND ARRESTED BLACK PEOPLE FOR NO REASON, POLICE DEPARTMENT IS DELETING EVIDENCE FROM WEBSITE

If you have been arrested or pulled over by these cops, hire a lawyer NOW!! Cops expect the public to shut up and obey. Cops do not live by a higher standard. 7 Charlotte cops competed to see who could arrest and shoot the most black people. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department racially profiles black people and violates peoples' constitutional rights everyday. The department is poorly trained and has unconstitutional policies. Yet the police chief who is a black woman expects us to believe that there is no evidence that the officers in this racist tirade did not violate people's civil rights while they were cops. Lady get real!! CMPD police have been getting away with unlawful killings, unlawful searches, and unlawful arrests for years. Police think they can do whatever they want
