FIREBIRDS RESTAURANT SCORES 84.50 B ON INSPECTION, HAD INSECTS AND EXPIRED FOODS

Date:

The FireBirds restaurant located at 3920 Sharon Rd. Charlotte, NC scored an 84.50 B on a food health safety inspection on September 6, 2023.

The manager at the start of the inspection was unable to provide documentation of being certified in a food protection manager’s course.

An employee handled trash and then donned gloves without a hand wash.

Two vegetable dicers and slicers were stored clean with food residue left on them. Several knives said to be clean by employee still had food debris left on them.

Several containers of steaks, shrimp, ribs, slaw, chicken, philly rolls, cut cantaloupe, and cream sauce were cold holding at unsafe temperatures of over 41F.

Pasta, diced tomatoes, chicken wings, and ribs were without date marks.

The roasted corn had a throw away date of 9/3 and diced chicken had discard dates of 9/4. The inspector had the old food thrown away.

The inspector also observed the philly rolls were marked to be discarded by 9/5. Several areas throughout the kitchen had small and large flies.
