A male victim was shot and killed on September 8, 2023 in uptown Charlotte, NC at the transit center main bus station. The location was on East 4th St.Shortly after 12:30 a.m. 911 operators received an assault with deadly weapon call. The initial investigation found that uniformed security employees encountered a male at the transit center.
One of the security guards perceived a deadly threat and discharged their weapon, striking the man. A firearm was recovered at the scene.Medic responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene. Information regarding what led to the encounter is not available now.
