On November 19, 2023 Demarcus McLendon, 24, was arrested, accused of leading cops on a high speed chase in Kannapolis, NC.
Cops attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle allegedly being driven by Demarcus. The vehicle failed to stop and a chase began.
After nearly 45 minutes the chase came to a stop on Interstate 85. Cops say Demarcus assaulted an officer while he was being arrested.
Demarcus is charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, injury to real property, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying concealed weapons, felony flee to elude arrest, failure to stop for lights and siren, aggressive driving, speeding, no operator license, and hit and run causing property damage.
Demarcus was not granted bail.
