The lady was killed in the food stamp office parking lot. The suspect pled guilty to murdering his girlfriend, she was a fashion model and basketball player. Suspect went into full creep mode saying, “If I cant have you, then no one can”
On September 9, 2026 Kristopher Sinclair, 40, pleaded guilty to the second degree murder of Brianye Copeland, 27, in Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram. Brianye was a model and basketball player.

Brianye was murdered on February 7, 2025 on Stitt Road where the food stamp office is located. Kristopher and Brianye were in a dating relationship. Many students at black colleges have died.
Brianye recognized that Kristopher had mental health issues and said he was crazy. Brianye tried ending the relationship, but Kristopher wasn’t having it.
Kristopher put a tracking device on Brianye’s vehicle to follow her every movement. Brianye went to the food stamp office parking lot one day and the suspect was following her unbeknownst to Brianye. The Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center is also known as the food stamp office. The location sits in a strip mall.

Kristopher approached Brianye and said “If I cant have you, then no one can have you” Kristopher then shot Brianye dead.
Kristopher fled the scene, but he was arrested later that day charged with murder. In September 2026 Kristopher decided to plead guilty to murder and was given 31 years in prison.
Kristopher’s release date is set for December 1, 2054.
Brianye played women’s basketball at Central State University; the only Historically Black College University in Ohio.
