12 kilograms of cocaine, 11 firearms, and $130,000 cash was found during a large scale drug bust. Jose Fernandez, 29, Marlon Fernandez-Calix, 36, Derek Reid, 44, and Andre Chisholm, 40, were all arrested accused of running an extensive cocaine operation in Charlotte, NC. The FBI and Charlotte police got tips from previously arrested drug suspects about large amounts of cocaine being sold and distributed at a stash house in Charlotte.

In August 2026 the FBI set up surveillance on residences on Old Mt. Holly Huntersville Road and at a house on Rocky River Church Road. Several traffic stops associated with this surveillance confirmed that narcotics transactions were occurring in association with the residences.

On Aug. 18, 2026 officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle associated with a suspect on Rocky River Church Road. A canine alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. During the following probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located and seized more than $69,000 in United States currency and approximately one kilogram of cocaine.

Jose Fernandez and Marlon Fernandez-Calix were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine. In the early morning hours of Aug 19, 2026 search warrants were issued and executed for both residences. 11 firearms, 12 kilograms of cocaine, 18 grams of fentanyl, and $130,000 cash was found. Derek Reid and Andre Chisholm were also arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine.
