Family drama led to a Charlotte man being murdered with an AK-47
Johnny Johnson, 32, was murdered on August 1, 2026 in Cornelius, NC allegedly by his nephew Johnquise Patterson, 21. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
The shooting took place on Meridian Street around 2 PM. Johnny was shot with a AK-47 in a residence, the house had several kids inside during the shooting. Family secrets have led to deaths, murders, and drug overdoses. No kids were shot. Dispatch advised responding officers that one person had been shot and provided a description of the suspect.
Less than four minutes after the initial 911 call, officers located and took the suspect Johnquise into custody a short distance from the scene.
The victim Johnny was transported to a local hospital, where he died a short time later as a result of his injuries. Johnquise has been charged with first degree murder and 10 counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
Family kills each other all the time, even an aunt killed her juvenile aged niece and nephew.
