Video of convicted felon Derrick Manigault dressed in red being killed by undercover cops. Derrick got in an argument with a man over nothing. Derrick was the aggressor and pulled out a gun
New video released in May 2026 shows Derrick Manigault, 43, being shot and killed by undercover police that did not identify themselves before shooting. Derrick was even running away while the cops were unlawfully shooting at him at the Jakob’s Food Mart in Gastonia, NC. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram.
Derrick was a convicted felon and has served prison time. He was married to a white woman Rebecca Insley who is now a widow. Derrick was killed on January 10, 2026.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. on the day of the killing two plain clothes undercover officers were inside Jakob’s Food Mart conducting a alcohol investigation in reference to alcohol sales to juveniles.
During the undercover sting, Manigault got into an argument with a man in the parking lot after he said whats up to the man and the man replied “I dont know you.” See more shooting videos here.
Instead of just walking away, Manigault started arguing with the man. Manigault then entered the store in an agitated state.
Once inside, Manigault started arguing with the man again saying “you missed your blessing and do you want to die tonight.”
Moments later, Manigault produced a handgun from his waistband and held it to his side. Manigault was partially walking out the store when an undercover cop in plain clothing shot Manigault multiple times without identifying himself as a cop.
A second detective discharged his weapon at Manigault too. Manigault ran away and cops continued to shoot at him, which gives Manigault’s wife and family grounds to sue because there is not a deadly threat if someone is running away. There is so much case law on how cops are not suppose to shoot at people that are running away.
Manigault was shot several times and died on scene. It turned out that Manigault had a fake gun during the entire ordeal.
Gastonia District Attorney Travis Page has indicated that he will not pursue criminal charges against the Gastonia Police Officers that killed Manigault.
