Keegan McKenney a swimmer for Queens University died in a head on collision with a tree
Keegan McKenney, 22, was killed on May 10, 2026 on Mother’s Day in Charlotte, NC. Keegan was on the swim team at Queens University within the last few years, he graduated recently.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. Keegan was in a BMW vehicle as a passenger with friends on Queens Road West. The BMW M3 had lost control and run off the roadway and struck a tree.
All occupants had to be extricated by the Charlotte Fire Department and were transported to local hospitals. Keegan died from the crash.
All occupants were wearing seat belts. Further investigation will be needed to determine if impairment or speed is a factor in this case.
