REBA’S BAR AND GRILL GETS LIQUOR LICENSE TAKEN AFTER OWNER CONVICTED OF ASSAULTING WOMAN

The ABC commission is way too strict, but it revoked the alcohol permits of this man’s business

58-year-old Rodney Black is the owner of Reba’s Bar & Grill in Charlotte, NC located on Camp Greene St. The restaurant is now losing its ABC liquor license permits due to Rodney being convicted of assaulting a woman.

In June 2025 the ABC Commission unanimously voted to strip the ABC permits of Reba’s Bar & Grill. Rodney assaulted a woman named Carolyn Black in 2020.

After court litigation Rodney was finally convicted of the crime. When ABC officials learned of the crime, the ABC commission revoked the liquor license of Reba’s Bar and Grill. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Rodney was convicted of felony assault inflicting serious bodily injury last year. ABC officials say that makes Rodney ineligible to hold ABC liquor permits, which is too strict if you ask us.
