The video was released in June 2024, but the actual shooting took place on May 18, 2022. It appears Nygil was not being served by Fogo de Chão employees; so Nygil walks to the back of the bar and grabs an entire bottle of liquor to serve himself.

Nygil was also allegedly yelling at customers and employees inside Fogo de Chão. The restaurant wait staff saw that Nygil had a gun and called police.

Cops arrive and approached Nygil, he gets on the ground.

The suspect is tasered and then runs away in the restaurant. A security guard hired by Fogo de Chão tackles Nygil.

Nygil’s gun then goes off and the security guard is shot. It is unclear if Nygil actually fired the shot or if the gun went off inadvertently due to the tackle.

Police then opened fire. Ten gunshots were fired at Nygil. Cops pause and then fire five more shots at the suspect.

Nygil died on scene. The security guard was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
