NUTRITIONIST ARRESTED ON DWI CHARGE, RESIDES IN WEALTHY NEIGHBORHOOD

Dietitian Stacey Vanderwel found herself in jail on a drunk driving arrest, maybe she can evaluate the jail food nutritional value

Stacey Vanderwel, 54, was arrested on May 17, 2025 in Charlotte, NC charged with DWI. Stacey is a nutrition therapist and registered dietitian, yet prosecutors say her blood alcohol was 0.17. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

On Saturday night May 17th Stacey was driving a vehicle erratically on Providence Rd. according to police. It is alleged that the vehicle was not maintaining its lane and crossed the lines multiple times.

The vehicle then began speeding, authorities say. A traffic stop was initiated. The smell of alcohol was strong, and Stacey’s eyes were red glossy.

Stacey stated that she had 2 drinks with dinner. Prosecutors say Stacey performed poorly on the
standard field sobriety tests and had trouble following directions.

A healthcare employee was accused of crashing a Jeep during a DWI arrest

A breathalyzer test determined Stacey had a blood alcohol content of 0.17, she was then arrested charged with DWI.

Her vehicle was towed away from the scene following her arrest. Stacey provides personalized nutrition counseling, she has 25 years of experience in nutrition and eating disorders.

Her husband is in the health field too, he is a doctor. Stacey lives in a brand new luxury development.
