SUSPECT CHARGED IN MURDER OF RESTAURANT OWNER

On March 4, 2020 Terry Conner Jr., 33, was charged with the murder of Scott Allen Brooks, 61. Scott was the co-owner of Brooks’ Sandwich House in Charlotte, NC.

On December 9, 2019, at around 4:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting near North Brevard Street. Officers located Scott after he had been shot on his way to work. Scott died on scene. 

As a result of continued investigation, Homicide Unit detectives identified Terry as a suspect in this case, and warrants were issued for his arrest. In the early morning hours of March 4 detectives with the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team worked with the SWAT Team to locate and arrest Terry. 

Terry is charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
