EX WELLS FARGO BANK EMPLOYEE PLEADS GUILTY TO STEALING $88,000 FROM THE VAULT

Date:

Arlando Henderson, 29, was an employee at a Wells Fargo bank in Charlotte, NC. Arlando had keys to the bank vault and stole more than $88,000 from the vault. Upon that Arlando bought a 2019 Mercedes Benz and put $20,000 down on the vehicle in cash at a North Carolina dealership.

On March 20, 2020 Arlando plead guilty to his crimes in a Charlotte, NC federal court.

On at least 18 occasions in 2019, Arlando stole cash from deposits made by bank customers from the Wells Fargo bank vault, and used the money to pay for personal expenses and to make a large cash down payment on the 2019 Mercedes-Benz.

Arlando made cash deposits at an ATM near his job. Mr. Henderson destroyed certain documents and made, or caused others to make, false entries in the Wells Fargo’s books and records to cover up the theft.

In total Arlando stole over $88,000 from the Wells Fargo bank vault in Charlotte. Arlando posted pictures of himself holding stacks of cash on social media.

In July 2019, after Arlando had stolen more than $70,000 in cash from the bank vault, he made a $20,000 cash down payment on a 2019 Mercedes-Benz, and obtained a car loan for the remaining balance from another financial institution, by providing false information and falsified documents, including falsified bank statements.

Prosecutors said Arlando tried to hide it by destroying documents or getting other people to lie on bank accounts.
