A cop was shot while he got carjacked on August 9, 2023 in Dallas, Texas. A cop with the Dallas Police Department was doing undercover surveillance inside an unmarked police vehicle, likely a Chevy Camaro.
The undercover cop was sitting in a parking lot. At 12:45 a.m. a suspect vehicle pulls into the parking lot and drives behind the undercover cop.
Three suspects then get out of the vehicle and approach the police officer with guns drawn. The suspects ordered the cop out of the vehicle.
The cop exits the vehicle and begins shooting at the suspects. The suspects then shoot AK-47 guns at the undercover cop.
The suspects were not shot, but the cop was shot.
The suspects then drive off in the unmarked cop car and the original suspect vehicle. The cop called 911, an ambulance took the officer to the hospital with gunshot wound injuries.
The stolen unmarked cop car was found abandoned nearby. Evidence shows the suspects fired at the officer at least nine times.
