SUSPECTS ACCUSED OF PEPPER SPRAYING WALMART EMPLOYEES DURING ALLEGED ROBBERY

On December 22, 2023 Jaqualla Monique Qua Simmons, 29, and Dyshaune Boyd, 28, are accused of robbing a Walmart in Belmont, NC and then pepper spraying employees to get away.

Around 12 noon Dyshaune and Jaqualla entered the Walmart. The suspects are accused of stealing items from the business. When Walmart employees attempted to intervene, the suspects are accused of pepper spraying the Walmart workers in the face. 

The suspects then ran to a vehicle and drove off, according to police. 

Jaqualla was driving the vehicle. Police attempted to stop the fleeing suspects, but the car refused to stop. 

A chase ensued, and the suspect vehicle eventually struck a vehicle on Wilkinson Blvd. Dyshaune and Jaqualla reportedly ran from cops on foot. 

Both suspects were apprehended after the foot pursuit.

Jaqualla was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony flee to elude arrest, assault with a deadly weapon on government official, driving while license revoked, reckless driving to endanger and three counts of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.

Dyshaune was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.
