Lisa Zamfir, 18, and Elena Mihalache, 24, were arrested on August 23, 2024 accused of stealing from the Target store on Matthews Township Pkwy. Matthews, NC. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram now.
Target was conducting an anti theft operation. Target loss prevention managers saw two females entering the store and walking to the medical aisle selecting multiple medical boxes.
The women allegedly put the merchandise under their skirts. The female suspects are then accused of passing all points of sale without payment.
Police were already called and stopped the women in the parking lot. Elena is accused of being dishonest and identifying herself as Alexandra Bonculescu.
Elena did however willfully admit to taking items from Target. She then showed cops a bag full of items that were found to be the stolen medicine.
Lisa is also accused of having stolen items. The stolen merchandise included medicines such as Tylenol, Motrin, and other miscellaneous items amounting to over $5,000.
Both suspects were placed under arrest on felony larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny charges.
A fingerprint scanner, showed that Elena lied about her identity of being Alexandra Bonculescu. Her true identity was Elena Mihalache.
