Tyrena died after being shot in the head during a shootout in Charlotte
Khdaius Marshall, 29, was sentenced to life in prison on August 19, 2025 in Charlotte, NC. A jury found him guilty of murdering 30-year-old Tyrena Inman at the Extended Stay America motel on 710 Yorkmont Road Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Tyrena was shot and killed on April 28, 2019. Khdaius arranged to meet Tyrena at the Extended Stay Motel
where she lived with relatives.
As the meeting was concluding, Khdaius pulled out a 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun and demanded money from Tyrena, prosecutors say. But Khaidus says Tyrena pulled a gun first.
Tyrena obtained a Glock 9mm handgun, and they exchanged gunfire. Khdaius shot Tyrena in the head, killing her, Khdaius was shot in the neck. The suspect was transported to the hospital later arrested charged with murder.
At trial Khdaius was found guilty of first degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Khdaius can still appeal the sentence on a self defense claim.
