WOMAN ACCUSED OF DWI, VOMITED AT BRIXX PIZZA NEXT TO VEHICLE

Shannon Munnik, 22, was arrested on July 19, 2024 at the Brixx Pizza on Fairview Rd. Charlotte, NC. Shannon vomited in the Brixx parking lot and was arrested on a DWI charge.

A police officer saw a vehicle at the Brixx Pizza parking lot attempting to back into a parking space. The vehicle was allegedly being driver by Shannon.

While backing in, Shannon allegedly struck another vehicle and then fell asleep in the drivers seat.

Managers from Brixx Pizza attempted to wake Shannon up by knocking on her window but were unsuccessful. Shannon woke up when officers arrived.

Shannon vomited when she exited her vehicle. Cops say a fresh odor of vomit was emanating from Shannon.

Shannon stated that she was on her way home and stopped to rest. Shannon said she had been sipping on wine earlier and that she was fine to drive.

Kayla Smith was charged with DWI, she allegedly banged her head on a patrol vehicle

Authorities say Shannon had a moderate odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath and she had red glassy eyes.

Shannon failed field sobriety tests. Shannon was given a breathalyzer test which resulted in her blood alcohol content to measure .12.

Security cameras at the Brixx Pizza captured Shannon driving the vehicle. Shannon was arrested and charged with driving while impaired.
