On October 5, 2023 at 11:30 p.m. Suzanne Laprise, 51, entered the lobby of the Bristol Police Department in Bristol , CT and shot off a gun multiple times at police.
Suzanne approached the front lobby desk office windows and banged on the windows with a handgun.
The front lobby desk was unoccupied at that time. After banging on the windows, Suzanne fired multiple rounds into the windows.
The rounds did not penetrate the bullet resistant glass. Officers attempted to open a dialogue with Suzanne.
During these efforts Suzanne discharged additional rounds in the direction of the officers. Officer Spencer Boisvert then returned fire, firing two shots.
The bullet resistant glass stopped all rounds and no one was hit.
Suzanne put the handgun down and officers entered the lobby and shot Suzanne with a taser gun. Suzanne was taken to Bristol Hospital for evaluation.
She was later returned to the Bristol Police Department and arrested.
