On July 27, 2022 video was released of Nikolas Cruz, 23, attacking a jail guard at the Broward County Jail in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Nikolas is the man that murdered 17 people in February 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during a mass shooting in Parkland, FL.
In November 2018 Nikolas attacked a jail guard identified as Sgt. Raymond Beltran inside the jail.
Surveillance video shows Nikolas attacking the guard inside a jail pod. Nikolas runs towards the guard and slams him to the ground.
The guard fights back and Nikolas is able to grab the guard’s taser. The guard quickly grabs the taser back, and is able to put Nikolas in handcuffs.
In posts on social media followed by a smiley face emoji, Nikolas wrote
“I wanna kill people, I’m going to be a professional school shooter, I have no problem shooting a girl in the chest. No mercy. It makes me happy to see people die. I love to see the families suffer.”
Nikolas is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on an officer and one count of use of an electric or chemical weapon against a law enforcement officer.
Nikolas plead guilty to the murder charges involving the school mass shooting.
