On June 6, 2023 Officer Alexander Shaouni of the Orlando Police Department was pulled over by a deputy with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department. The traffic stop was in Seminole County, Florida. Officer Shaouni was later arrested for driving off on the traffic stop. A deputy with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department clocked Officer Shaouni driving 80 mph in a 45 mph zone, officials say. Officer Shaouni was in a marked police vehicle, but did not have his siren or emergency lights on.
The deputy sped 100 mph to catch up with Officer Shaouni.

The officer at first did not pull over, just flashing his lights for a few seconds. The deputy demanded over the radio for Officer Shaouni to pull over.
Officer Shaouni pulls over and says he is on the way to work, and sarcastically says what does it look like I am dressed for.
The deputy asked to see Officer Shaouni’s driver’s license, the officer says no and drives away from the traffic stop.
On June 9, 2023 Officer Shaouni was arrested, charged with fleeing a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, speeding, and resisting arrest.
Officer Shaouni has since been relieved of duty. An internal affairs investigation is in proceedings.
