VIDEO: CHILD MURDERED IN CHARLOTTE DRIVE-BY SHOOTING, MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MURDER

On November 12, 2025 Jacob Lanier, 25, pled guilty to the murder of 3-year-old Asiah Figueroa in Charlotte, NC. Video shows the drive-by shooting that killed Asiah. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.

Asiah was shot and killed on September 7, 2021 on Richard Rozzelle Dr. Charlotte, NC around 11:50 p.m. Video shows a barrage of bullets being shot into several homes during a drive-by shooting. 

Several cars were seen pulling up to the house, 3 men get out and started firing over 100 shots. Asiah was shot and died. Asiah’s 5-year-old sister was also shot, but she survived. 

Jacob was arrested on September 10, 2021 and charged with murder, eight counts of attempted murder, nine counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and conspiracy to commit murder.

Kaleb Lawrence was also arrested charged with murder, eight counts of attempted murder, nine counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, and conspiracy to commit murder. His case is still pending.

In court Jacob pled guilty to second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. For the
second degree murder charge he was sentenced to 216-272 months in prison. And for the
conspiracy charge, he was sentenced to a concurrent sentence of 125-162 months in prison.
