On May 24, 2023 a driver hit a tow truck’s flatbed and went flying into the air. The crash was in Lowndes County, Georgia.
Authorities and a tow truck were on Ga. 38/U.S. 84 attending to a traffic crash.
While the tow truck had its bed down in the roadway, another vehicle came crashing into the bed of the tow truck and went onto its flat bed.
The angle of the tow bed then elevated the car into the air at high speeds, approximately 120 feet over the tow truck.
The car then hit another vehicle in the back. The car then traveled another 23 feet after impact with the other car.A Lowndes County deputy was hit by flying debris from the crash and taken to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle that launched into the air was hospitalized with serious injuries.
It’s unclear if any charges will be filed against the driver.
