Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation that occurred on February 29, 2024 on West Trade Street Charlotte, NC in the uptown area. At 8:30 a.m., officers responded to an assist medic call. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
This homicide occurred on Leap Day, the next Leap Day won’t be until 2028. Leap years add an extra day to the year to align the calendar properly with Earth’s orbit.
