Ryan Russell, 34, pled guilty to shooting at employees at a PLS Check Cashing location on South Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Ryan is a military veteran and may of been having a psychotic episode.

In October 2019 at 1 p.m. Ryan entered the PLS Check Cashing business with a concealed Glock firearm.
Ryan then fired the Glock inside the building at several employees. The bullets damaged multiple windows and the glass that separates customers from employees. The employees ducked and some were able to run to the back office of the business.

911 was called and Ryan was later arrested, charged with multiple counts of violence.
In March 2023 Ryan pled guilty to discharging a firearm within an enclosure to incite fear, communicating threats, misdemeanor carrying a concealed gun, and injury to personal property.

The judge sentenced Ryan to 13-25 months in prison; that sentence was suspended pending his successful completion of 24 months of supervised probation.
As a condition of his probation, Ryan must continue mental health treatment through Veterans Affairs.
