Jeffrey Salyer, 35, was arrested in December 2022 in Charlotte, NC on charges of prostitution solicitation and one count of a crime against nature. The crime against nature means a request for oral sex in exchange for money was made. Jeffrey has had several law enforcement jobs, his most recent was being a North Carolina State Trooper. Now the suspects that Jeffrey arrested will likely have their criminal cases dismissed.
Jeffrey is originally from Kansas and moved to NC after high school. In 2018 he was sworn in as a cop with the Matthews Police Department in North Carolina. Prior to that he was a cop with the Monroe Police Department in North Carolina.
In 2019 Jeffrey became a North Carolina State Trooper in Gaston County.
On December 23, 2022 Jeffrey was accused of soliciting a prostitute in a hotel room in Charlotte during an undercover sting operation.
Jeffrey is accused of seeking oral sex in exchange of money. Once an alleged deal was made, Jeffrey was arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution and solicit crime against nature.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed Jeffrey resigned the day of his arrest.
Now the cases where Jeffrey made any arrests will be dismissed in Gaston County because Jeffrey was arrested and can not testify in court against the suspects in his official law enforcement capacity.
