A teen was shot dead in a shopping center parking deck
Alexander Cruz Martinez, 16, was murdered in a violent shooting on October 1, 2025 at a shopping center on Metropolitan Avenue Charlotte, NC. Follow Charlotte Alerts on Instagram.
At 8 p.m., officers responded to an shots fired call. Martinez was shot and killed while in the shopping center parking deck. Customers at the many stores nearby heard and felt the shots. Teenagers getting killed is a growing concern in Charlotte.
EMS was called to the scene and Martinez died a short time later. Mall shootings have been extravagant in Charlotte.
