TEENAGER CHARGED WITH MURDERING COLLEGE BASKETBALL STAR

Paul Tate, 21, was murdered on June 14, 2023 in Charlotte, NC. A 16-year-old is now charged with murdering Paul. The victim was a basketball player at Livingstone College on scholarship.

Around 2:00 p.m. Paul and a group of people got into a dispute in the parking lot of a shopping center on Mount Holly-Huntersville Road. The suspect pulled out a gun and shot Paul multiple times. Paul died on the scene. Later in the day, the teenage suspect turned themself in to cops.

The suspect was then charged with murder. The suspect was transported to a juvenile detention center.

Paul formerly played basketball for West Meck High School. He then earned a scholarship to play basketball at Livingstone College.
