TEENAGE AUTO STORE EMPLOYEE KILLED IN LATE NIGHT WRECK

18-year-old Skilar Akers was killed in a vehicular crash on January 13, 2024 in Charlotte, NC. Charlotte Alerts is on Instagram now.

Skilar was driving a vehicle on January 13th allegedly at a high speed. At 11:20 p.m. on University City Blvd Skilar lost control of her car and struck a guardrail. Her vehicle was severely damaged.

EMS came to the scene and pronounced Skilar deceased, after she was stuck in the vehicle. Detectives with the Major Crash Investigation Unit and officers with the DWI Task Force responded to the scene to investigate the incident. Impairment is currently unknown and is pending toxicology results. Cops say Skilar was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. 

Skilar was a recent high school graduate, and she worked at a auto store shop.
